CABARET
4/22/2011 to 5/22/2011

April 22-May 22, 2011
Music by John Kander
Lyrics by Fred Ebb
Book by Joe Masteroff
Directed and Choreographed by Joel Ferrell
Potter Rose Performance Hall
Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre

IN HERE, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.
Willkommen to the Kit Kat Club. Take your seat at a bar table, order a little something from your fetching cocktail waitress, and immerse yourself in the musical theater event of a lifetime. You’re not just at the show, you’re in the show as we transform the Wyly’s Potter Rose Performance Hall into 1930s Berlin. Inside the cabaret, Sally Bowles and the beguiling Emcee live in a seedy, sexy world of delicious decadence, while outside, the gathering storm of Nazi oppression grows. Filled with hit Broadway songs and a story that still speaks profoundly to us today, Cabaret is a knock-out, once-in-a-lifetime theatrical experience.  *Contains adult themes, language and brief nudity. Appropriate for mature high school-age children and older.

Phenomenal. That’s all I can think of to say. I saw today’s Sunday matinee. I have seen several professional versions of Cabaret, including on the London stage. The music is always great. But the acting in this show was so perfect and the chemistry so good, it was just a stunning show. I have never been as swept up into the story or had as emotional of a reaction as I did to this production. Congratulations to everyone involved, actors, musicians, director, choreographer, Kevin and Heather. What a great show for Dallas and for Dallas Theater Center. Keep ‘em coming.

Spectacular. Moving. Stirring. Talent on steroids. Bodies which are the envy of all. Simply a fabulous production. RUN to get tickets.

A mesmerizing experience. The talented cast, director, designers and crew reinvented the familiar story, using the unique attributes of the Wyly theater to deliver it with a visceral impact. DTC proves that Broadway shows can take on new life and a new look in this setting -- and make the very notion of "regional" theater seem old-fashioned.

WOW from the beginning to the end great voices, interpretation and dance. McCollum had incredible range. The interaction and stage setting did make you feel part of the show and it was very sexy. Worth every penny especially to sit at the tables.

What an amazing production last night. Everything from the artistic choices in staging, choreography, sound, set, and incredible lighting. I really felt as though I was at the KIT KAT Klub! Please pass on my regards to the ENTIRE COMPANY, especially Lee Trull! He was amazing as usual! The choreography and direction was spot on and the subtle choices each actor made really connected with me as an audience. Everyone on stage including the musicians should be extremely proud of the work they created! I left the theater in a state of shock because of the ending…Shock in a good way! I really didn't know how to react at the end. We are so blessed to be included in such a wonderful program such as Project Discovery!

I saw this last night in previews. It is entertaining, upsetting, and relevant. If you think you've already seen Cabaret, you haven't. 'nough said

Thank you so much for the tickets. Pay-what-you-can night is truly a gift to those of us who so desperately want to see (but cannot afford the regular ticket price) the world class productions put on by the Dallas Theater Center. I thank those who underwrite this wonderful program.
