MANAGER OF CORPORATE RELATIONS

The Manager of Corporate Relations reports to DTC’s Director of Development and is a front-line fundraising position responsible for  the solicitation and stewardship of all corporate partners (pre-pandemic portfolio of 50-60 valued at approximately $725,000;  current portfolio of 25 valued at $600,000). Responsibilities include researching prospect companies, developing sponsorship and  corporate gift proposals and/or grant applications, directly soliciting corporate contributions and sponsorships, planning and  executing corporate events for sponsors, and creating and submitting final reports. The person in this position is responsible for  recruiting new corporate donors and increasing the total contributions from corporate donors in alliance with DTC’s strategic plan.  This position works directly with DTC Artistic, Public Works, and Administrative staff, as well as members of the Board of Trustees.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which is eligible for overtime. This position includes a full benefits package: medical, dental  and vision insurance, DTC-paid life insurance, voluntary life insurance and 403b programs, complimentary tickets and generous paid time off. Some nights and weekends will be required as needed throughout the season.

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

The Assistant General Manager (GM)’s primary responsibilities include generating and tracking contracts for creative teams and staff, venues and productions. The Assistant GM will serve as a critical point person for all participants and staff, so the position demands strong communication and organizational skills, as well as ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant GM reports directly to the General Manager, and is also responsible for supporting facilities and IT projects and initiatives. The Assistant GM will have oversight of the Company Management department. An ideal candidate would be someone who has experience delegating tasks and feels comfortable both working with a team in a collaborative environment, and also working independently.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which is eligible for overtime. BOX OFFICE MANAGER

The Box Office Manager will report directly to the Director of Ticketing Services, and work closely as part of the Marketing Team, to manage the day-to-day operations within the Box Office including, but not limited to; ticket transactions, customer service, communication about Dallas Theater Center productions and policies, supervision of staff, and reconciliation of Box Office transactions. The ideal candidate for this position must exercise independent judgement, initiative, ability to problem solve, diplomacy, a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and a love of theater.

RESIDENT MUSIC DIRECTOR

Dallas Theater Center (DTC) seeks applicants for a new Resident Musical Director position to join our highly collaborative and versatile company of Resident Artists. This new, full-time staff position will work with the Artistic Director and Artistic Producer as well as the other Resident and guest artists (directors, designers, actors, playwright) to craft the artistic programming for this robust and diverse institution. DTC seeks candidates who will work in support of our mission and values and who share our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

The Resident Music Director will report to the Artistic Producer, and will serve as the leader of music for our theatrical productions including hiring and supervising musicians, providing music direction, conducting, and providing support for composers. Duties include musical direction on all mainstage musicals; musical direction of all cabarets/concerts/galas or small touring productions; music supervision on all mainstage plays and as needed on developmental work; contracting of all union and non-union musicians, teaching in DTC’s Public Works programs (education & community engagement). The Music Director will work as part of the Producing Team, the Season Planning Team, and the Artistic Staff; and will serve as an artistic advocate and leader in the community.

BRIERLEY RESIDENT ACTING COMPANY MEMBER (CORE)

Dallas Theater Center (DTC) seeks experienced and versatile actors to join our Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company (BRAC). Resident Actors will be Core members of our company engaged full-time by DTC. They will be cast in multiple productions (plays and musicals) each season under AEA contracts with AEA health and benefits. Resident actors will also will be engaged in the development of new works and participation in special projects over the course of the DTC season. DTC seeks candidates who will work in support of our mission and values and who share our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. 

Core BRAC members will report directly to the Associate Artistic Director and will serve as actors and members of the Artistic team at DTC. Duties include: acting in plays and musicals; assisting in development of new work; participating in new play development and special projects through our Innovation Lab; teaching in DTC’s Public Works programs (education & community engagement); participating on the Season Planning Team, and Artistic Staff; and serving as an artistic advocate and leader in the community. Along with all other full-time staff they will attend company and departmental meetings, attend institutional events and will be engaged on staff committees. 

Each Core BRAC member will have a mid-year and annual review with the Associate Artistic Director to determine individual goals and future opportunities that are mutually beneficial to the company member and DTC.

Working closely with the Manager of Box Office Services, Director of Ticketing, Director of Marketing and Communications, and ATTPAC Front of House, the Box Office Representative will strive to deliver an elevated patron experience, to promote all Dallas Theater Center productions, and to resolve patron issues in a timely manner.

An active member of Dallas Theater Center (DTC)’s Production Department, the Resident Production Stage Manager is responsible for the supervision of all stage management teams and serves as the Stage Manager on various productions throughout the season. The Resident Production Stage Manager reports directly to the Director of Production and is responsible for creating Production Calendars throughout Season Planning in addition to the hiring and onboarding all stage management teams. An ideal candidate would be someone who communicates clearly and efficiently, manages confidential information with integrity, and someone who can lead employees to get work done efficiently and safely.

This is a full-time, exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime. The Draper reports directly to the Costume Director, and is responsible for effectively supporting Costume Designers, ensuring that high artistic standards are met at all times.

STAFF ELECTRICIAN

An active member of Dallas Theater Center (DTC)’s Production Department, the Staff Electrician is responsible for working with the Lighting Department to implement, facilitate and maintain the Lighting Designer’s vision for all DTC shows. Additionally, the Staff Electrician is responsible for general upkeep of DTC’s lighting equipment in conjunction with the rest of the Lighting Department. The Staff Electrician reports directly to the Head of Lighting, and is responsible for effectively supporting Lighting Designers, ensuring that high artistic standards are met at all times. An ideal candidate would be someone who has experience working with a variety of different lighting equipment, is a strong hands-on learner and feels comfortable working with a team or independently.

The Associate Producer of Public Works serves a vital role in the growth and evolution of Dallas Theater Center’s Public Works Department. In collaboration with the Director of Public Works and the theater’s Artistic and Production staff, the Associate Producer manages the hiring, budgeting, artistic vision and implementation DTC’s community-based productions. This position reports to the Director of Public Works and is responsible for producing the theater’s participatory theater pageant, community touring programming, and school-time matinees.

Dallas Theater Center (DTC) is seeking a Lead Carpenter to join our fast-paced Scene Shop. This is a non-exempt, salaried position, eligible for overtime, full benefits and paid time off.
