Remembering Garrett Foster

It is with sadness that we recognize the loss of Garrett Foster. Garrett, a 28-year-old veteran, was the fiancée of Whitney Mitchell, Patricia Kirven’s daughter. Patricia worked in the Development department at Dallas Theater Center for three years.

Garrett Foster was murdered on July 25 while attending a peaceful protest in Austin, Texas with Whitney. An unknown vehicle barreled into the crowd and this evil person shot and killed Garrett, while he was trying to protect his fiancée. A great person was taken away from his fiancée, his mother, father, siblings and a host of loving family members. He fought against injustice, served in the military and was fiercely protective of his fiancée.  They fell in love at 17 and were never apart.  A fund has been established to assist with the costs of the funeral, burial and other expenses in the days to come. If you’d like to contribute, you may do so here.

Thank you for sharing your love, support and compassion with Whitney, Patricia and their family during this emotional time.
