Each season, Dallas Theater Center recognizes an educator whose work with Project Discovery and the young people involved in the program is beyond outstanding. Join us this year in celebrating the accomplishments of Rebecca McDonald.
REBECCA McDONALD holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Performance from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a Masters of Arts in Drama from Texas Woman’s University. She is also an alumnus of the Collin College Theatre. She has had the privilege to perform, choreograph, and direct internationally and around the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex, as well as perform in film/TV. Recently she was welcomed into the Collin College Theatre’s Hall of Fame and is currently a co-director of the award winning Raider Theatre and Step Team Choreographer/Coach at North Garland High School. She has created the Garland ISD district wide step team, UnIVsAll, which opened for Blue Man Group during a recent tour in DFW. She is passionate about arts education. Selected recent directing credits include: Baltimore (Collin College); Cardboard Piano (Proper Hijinx); Anna in the Tropics (Eastfield College); In the Heights (Musical Theatre Denton); Black at the Assassination (Bishop Arts Theatre); and multiple years with Kitchen Dog Theatre’s PupFest and One Minute Play Festival. Rebecca has most recently performed with DGDG: Danielle Georgiou Dance Group, and has had plays featured in One Minute Play Festival and Storytellers with Queens Theatre New York. She hopes that by continuing her professional career in the fine arts, she can continually impart knowledge and a varied skill set to her students.
