DTC Corporate Partner Wells Fargo Wins Obelisk Award

Business Council for the Arts, a non-profit organization that works with the North Texas business community to strengthen the arts and culture sector and grow a creative corporate workforce, held its 25th annual Obelisk Awards on November 15. These awards recognize businesses and executives for creating innovative and impactful partnerships with area arts organizations.

National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards


Project Discovery, Dallas Theater Center’s 27-year-old flagship education program, is one of 50 finalists out of more than 350 applicants for the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award.

Area Choirs to Perform at the Wyly Theatre During the Run of A Christmas Carol

This season Dallas Theater Center wil partner with a variety of area choirs during the run of Kevin Moriarty's brand new adaptation of A Christmas Carol.  The holiday cheer will begin outside the Wyly Theatre, as patrons are greeted by one in an array of participating vocal groups.

TAG TREK: Dallas Theater Center and the School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center

In October, DTC’s Education and Production departments teamed up to provide a three-day, all-school workshop for the School for the Talented and Gifted (TAG) at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center. TAG’s annual TREK focuses on one of four subject areas (science, humanities, arts, and math) and this was the first time the school opted to partner with an outside organization to create a completely immersive experience.

Designing Carol

This year, DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty is bringing to life a world premiere adaptation of A Christmas Carol at the Wyly Theatre. Audiences will still see the loving Cratchit family, cute Tiny Tim and the nasty Ebenezer Scrooge, but they’ll also be delighted with a brand new design. Moriarty has tapped a few favorite DTC designers to bring the story to life.

Relive Your Giant Memories

When Dallas Theater Center produced the new musical Giant in 2012, Dallas Morning News critic Lawson Taitte called it "a big step forward for the American musical." Dallas audiences fell in love with the lush score by Michael John LaChiusa, with its epic sweep and its flavors of Mexican folk music, country, blues, and jazz.
