The music of The Fortress of Solitude, like the plot, spans three decades as Dylan and Mingus, two best friends, try to piece together their troubled past growing up in Brooklyn in the ’70s. The score feels both fresh and nostalgic. You will hear echoes of Motown, folk, R&B, funk, early hip hop, punk, and hard core rap. Pop music provides the lens for their memory, captures their past but ultimately fails to heal their wounds. Ultimately Dylan and Mingus will have to attempt to do that for themselves.
Below is a sample of some of the styles of music you can expect to enjoy during the show.
