Business Council for the Arts, a non-profit organization that works with the North Texas business community to strengthen the arts and culture sector and grow a creative corporate workforce, held its 25th annual Obelisk Awards on November 15. These awards recognize businesses and executives for creating innovative and impactful partnerships with area arts organizations.
One of the eight award recipients was Wells Fargo, for its inaugural sponsorship of DTC’s program, Come Early. Cliff Lawrence, Executive Vice President of Wells Fargo’s Global Banking business and DTC Board Member, accepted the award at the luncheon. He is pictured above with DTC’s Manager of Corporate Relations and Events, Robin Rose; Brierley Resident Acting Company Member and Community Artist, Hassan El-Amin ; and Director of Development, Antay Bilgutay. Come Early, launched in January 2013 and facilitated by El-Amin, provides a free half-hour presentation before every single performance of every DTC production.
Thank you, Wells Fargo, for enabling DTC to launch this new program!
P.S. Be sure to join Daniel Duque-Estrada, a recent member of DTC’s Brierley Resident Acting Company, as he leads the Come Early lectures for our next production, Oedipus el Rey, which is on stage in the Wyly Theatre’s Studio Theatre January 16 through March 2.
