EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS APPRENTICE (posted August 19, 2014)
The E & CP Apprentice assists in the execution of all education and community programs including assisting in the administration and facilitation of all education & community programs, as assigned by the Director of Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate as a fully active team member of DTC’s Education Department; including substitute teaching when needed, assisting with the implementation of existing programs, and departmental planning. Other miscellaneous duties as needed.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
This position requires an enthusiastic individual who is very organized, shows initiative, ingenuity, thorough understanding of theater as an art form and has great communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong artistic point-of-view combined with a passion for engaging new communities. The ideal candidate is an early career theater maker who thrives in a high-paced environment where multi-tasking is essential and should possess intellectual curiosity and a passion for theater. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software is a plus, as is a broad knowledge of education processes and current engagement practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Candidates should have BA/BFA/BSEd, with emphasis in Theatre, Arts Education, Community Engagement or professional equivalent.
The Education & Community Programs Apprentice position is a part time position utilizing 25 hours per week, over 40 work weeks. This position will fall between the dates of September 15, 2014 and June15, 2014 as best determined by the Apprentice and their supervisor. Must be available evenings Mon – Friday; Occasional weekend commitments, Flexible hours, as mutually established. Apprentices are responsible for finding housing and transportation during their apprenticeship. This apprenticeship does not include medical benefits. Apprentice will have access to staff complimentary tickets and parking.

Dallas Theater Center seeks an experienced Sound Staff Technician. This individual will work in conjunction with the Sound Supervisor and Sound Designers to execute designs and run productions and events. This position requires experience on productions ranging from large-scale musicals to smaller straight plays and extensive knowledge and experience with audio equipment and systems.
The Staff Sound Technician shall function as the deck technician for the Sound Department, primarily repsonisble for maintaining and distributing the wireless microphones and serves as secondary board operator for DTC producions. The Sound Staff Technician reports to the Sound Supervisor.

COSTUME STITCHER (posted April 20, 2014)
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
The Costume Stitcher reports to the Costume Shop Manager and is responsible for the construction of new costumes and the alteration and refurbishment of existing costumes, under the direction of the draper/tailor and first hand for a multi production season. The stitcher must be prepared to fulfill the following responsibilities throughout the season: construction, alteration, and finishing work using both hand and machine stitching; pressing and rolling of fabrics; pressing, steaming and correct labeling of finished costumes.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Applicants must have a BA in costume technology or comparable professional experience and minimum two years of stitching experience at the academic or professional level.
This is a full-time, seasonal position eligible for benefits and overtime.

Stage Management Observers
Dallas Theater Center seeks Stage Management Observers for our 2013-2014 season. SM Observers will assist the Stage Management staff and have the opportunity to observe and participate in DTC rehearsals and tech rehearsals. This is a volunteer position and it is best suited, but not limited, to those interested in pursuing Stage Management as a career. Appropriate applicants may seek professional internship credit with his/her current college or university (as appropriate). There are multiple openings for this position. Scheduling is part time, flexible and may be short or long term, but a commitment is required. Dallas/Fort Worth locals are encouraged to apply as housing is not provided.
